COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE DURING CONSTRUCTION (Sn 01 Ep 01)

1.USING  A PLAN THAT WAS MEANT FOR  ANOTHER SITE

This is a common common mistake made by many people. I wish you have an idea how perfect the plan is; when used for the site it was designed for. What am I trying to say? There are various reasons why a plan that was meant for a certain site will never work well in another. Many realize it when it is too late.  They end up investing their hard earned money in projects that make them regret for life .
PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH SUCH   PLANS
   (a)Lack of Natural lighting
Every designer must put into considerations the neighbor-hood and the developments that are likely to arise in future. Have you ever seen someone develop a bungalow in site where the neighbouring sites are empty and they orient their windows towards them? It dawns on them when flats are later developed from right left and centre and they realize that the house does not have natural light. That means that they will use electricity 24/7 for a lifetime which will in turn be very expensive in the long run.

(b)Children Can’t Watch TV In Peace

Have you ever gotten into a house where the sun directly the TV screen directly. You find that direct sun hit the lounge you cannot differentiate . Some end up wasting more materials by creating a space to block direct sun before the lounge. Oh! What kind of wastage is that? Anyway; you are forgiven since you did not know.

 (c) Unnecessary /weak foundations
A foundation for a flooding site can never be like the one for a dry a well drained area. It is very sad to find yourself trying to use a foundation plan of another site while you are working on an area with a different soil types. You will either use unnecessary resources or have very weak foundations. The same same case applies when you try a plan that was designed for a well drained area in a flooded area.
